SFS off site solutions lead the way at Ruth Gorse Academy

Tuesday 22nd March 2016

Following on from other successful off site systems, Brebur working in partnership with Bam and Icarus, have devloped a pre-panelised SFS solution for the Ruth Gorse project at Leeds.

The pre boarded panels have improved build time and manual handling. They have also enabled a larger portion of the installation to be erected from inside the structure, rather than externally from MEWP's, thereby further reducing the working at height risks.

Brebur continue to invest in youth development by taking on three apprentices from Castleford High School. The successful applicants were chosen from 19 candidates after a series of interviews, and they will be training as Dryliners, Site Managers and Quantity Surveyors. We look forward to welcoming them all as valued members of our team, and are certian that they will help to strengthen our company for years to come.

Due to the challenges posed by its costal location, and an innovative Architectural concept, the Bridlington Leisure Centre has proven to be one of our most difficult builds to date.

Particularly difficult has been the full encpsulation of the SFS to protect against salt errosion.

Quality installation, and robust QA has been essential in overcoming these challenges. To see the outstanding workmanship in full watch the project fly through on the link below.

Brebur and EOS build on success at Doncaster College

Tuesday 14th February 2017

After using EOS on Sarah Swift College, where pre-cut SFS stud and tracks helped us to improve onsite performance, we have engaged with EOS once more to provide the SFS at Doncaster College.

The use of pre-cut metal components enabled to improve on an extremely tight construction program, whilst minimizing exposure to vibration, reducing the need for hearing exclusion zones and decreasing health & safety risks onsite generally.

Ceiling tile recycling reduces waste at Doncaster New College

Waste removed from site by distribution

Because of our commitment to recycling, we have partnered with Armstrong Ceilings and SIG on Doncaster New College in an effort to reduce the amount of waste going to landfill.

The straightforward process begins when ceiling tile waste generated during installation is placed into bags provided by Armstrong, these are stored until the tile distributor attends site and the bags are loaded onto the returning wagon. The waste is then taken back to Armstrong where it is recycled into more ceiling tiles.

Director Tommy Burke said that "not only is this approach more environmentally friendly, but it also makes commercial sense by reducing the amount we have to pay towards traditional skips".

Brebur trail innovative new products to improve safety onsite

Wednesday 20th September 2017

Having successfully trailed the portable work bench from Stark Arvid on our Minsthorpe site for Willmott Dixon, Brebur will now start rolling them out across more sites in the coming months.

The Portable work bench allows boards to be stacked and moved using minimal effort. Once transported to the correct location the bench is flipped over to create a stable workbench.

Contacts Manager Vinny Lilley said, "The benefits to health and safety are impressive; everything from loading the materials onto the trolley, to moving them and then have the trolley turn into a work bench has made all associated activities so much safer".
